The brief was to create a collection inspired by the concept of collaborating with and organisation or company outside of the fashion industry. My collaboration is with a bicycle repair shop where I would collect inner tubes from bike tyres. These, once punctured, are a waste product. These tubes can be utilised in fashion to create leather like rubber garments with textural lines and interesting marks created by the groves of the inner tubes. I also chose to collaborated with the textiles industry, during the manufacture some of fabrics a large amount of waste is created from the selvedge edges trimmed by the looms during weaving. Through smocking theses I created interesting textural fabrics. I utilised this fabric combined with the leather like rubber to created my collection.
